Brainchild of Raimundo DÃaz (1962, San Juan, Puerto Rico), french horn player, multi-instrumentalist and composer. A pioneer of solo brass ensemble recording, DÃaz has called upon his mastery of a wide range of instruments to achieve his ideal of self-sufficient recorded performances. His repertory ranges from Renaissance to Contemporary music.Diaz's musical training started in the Real Conservatorio de Madrid (1970-73). He later completed his training at the Escuela Libre de Música (1975-1980) and The Juilliard School in New York (1981-1985). In 1981 he studied at the Center for Computer Music at CUNY under Charles Dodge. Afterwards, he began his career he began his career as a Horn Player at the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra (1985-1991)In 1991 he returned to Spain to play with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias and in 1998 with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia.In 2000 he established his residence in Puerto Rico where he plays with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Puerto Rico .Throughout his years as an orchestral player DÃaz has led an active parallel life as recording artist, film composer, painter, photographer and experimental filmmaker.Finally in 2007 he created Ars Aureum Brass Consort, a "nom de plume" for his recordings that are generally dedicated to the late rennaisance-early baroque repertoire, but which sometimes also serves as an outlet for music that hails from the early classical repertoire (e.g. Mozart Symphony K16).Diaz’s discography as a studio player include more than 70 recordings including film soundtracks.
