Rob graduated college with a passionate interest in Broadcasting and Production and has explored essentially all aspects of his field with much success. After college he launched his career at WOHT Hot 95FM in Jackson MS where he worked for two years, the excitement of the live audience proved to be the challenge that he thrived ..ing with the weekend gigs, he worked spinning vinyl at local area clubs all over the state introducing the Hard House and Breakbeats of the early 90's to the Southern club circuit. From Mississippi he established a short run at WABB 97.5 in Mobile Al.
Now it was time for bigger and better gigs so he moved to Memphis TN where he put his time at such venues as Club 616 and The Pyrimid Club, then it was on to Nashville where he pioneered his own style of jocking, combining the art of turntablism with live PA and a full stage production, complete with an astounding pyrotechnic and visual show as well as go-go dancers and fire eating freaks, all the while never missing a beat on the turntables and keeping the dance floor packed where ever he performed. He quickly earned the reputation as "Nashville's Premiere DJ". He started his Nashville journey at "The Ace of Clubs" where he went in and turned a dying club into a 30 minute wait in line on any given Saturday night. His show, combining House music, disco and the best of the 80's, was such a success that the owner created a club entirely to accommodate his crowd and format. The name of the club was "The Lava Lounge", with a packed house and long lines every weekend. Other club operators around
Nashville quickly took note of his eccentric style, popular music format and extravagant show, therefore taking his career to new heights and many more prominent venues. He consistently packed such Nashville clubs as "Night Rhythm", "Players Draught House", "The Underground", "Coyotes", "Tap City", and "Club Mere Bulles". He also held residency and the head DJ position at "The Music City Mix Factory" as well as regular appearances at "Dancing in the District". In late 1996, 103.3 WKDF's Sherry Sexton collaborated with Rob to produce and broadcast one of the most successful club/radio shows in recent memory, it was called "The Velveeta Lounge" and it was broadcast every Wednesday night from the "Have A Nice Day Cafe" where Rob packed the house weekly with his outrageous 80's show, which even landed him an appearance on The Jerry Springer Show as well as Club DJ Cameos in Bret Michael's "Letter From Death Row" and a Club DJ Extra part in "Last Dance" with Sharon Stone.
Along with his efforts at WKDF he also was one of Nashville's most controversial and popular night time Radio Personality's at WQQZ 102.5 The Party. His turntable skills and showmanship earned him opening slots over the years for such acts as "Technotronic", "Egyptian Lover", "Kyper", "Information Society", "Cevello", "Martha Wash" (The Weather Girls), "Debbie Deb", "CnC Music Factory", "Color Me Bad", "98 Degrees", "Vanilla Ice", "Gerardo", as well as working in one aspect or another with many acts in the Rock-Roll industry such as Quiet Riot, Kansas, Morphine, Hootie and the Blowfish, Flock of Seagulls and many, many more. Today, while successfully working in the Advertising industry, Rob still does an occasional club slot when requested, however at 34, most of his DJ hours are now spent burning up the wheels of steel, as well as writing his own music in his studio at home in Tampa.
