It is believed that Irish artist Edwin Williamson has being singing since he learned how to talk……..as a young boy, no family gathering, party or sing-song was complete without Edwin’s highlight performance. Throughout his early years Edwin was found singing his heart out, telling his little stories, as he mesmerised audiences across Dublin City. However, this young teen had questions? He knew what he wanted, nothing less then to become one of the greatest singers in the world……. And it was this very quest, along with his ferocious appetite to learn, that lead him to his great mentor Ireland’s Bel Canto singing master Frank Merriman.
As if by fate itself, Edwin had found exactly what he was looking for, the truth, the real art of beautiful singing “Bel Canto†and he took time out from performing and studied very hard for years with his mentor eventually reaching the pinnacle, Vocal Freedom which is something only achieved by some of the greatest singers in history.
At the Bel Canto school of singing in Dublin, Edwin dedicated his time to teaching alongside Frank where he taught singing, coached and conducted studio vocal production to artists from all over the world including Francis Black, Samanta Mumba and to name but a few.
As an artist, singer, songwriter and performer Edwin has recorded and released two singles with original material which charted in his home country of Ireland.
Singing contests and competitions are not something Edwin ever wanted to pursue however, over the years he was entered into six singing competitions right across the globe and the result…….Yes he practically won the whole lot!!
Now, highest on Edwin Williamson’s agenda is to return back full time to performing and at the moment Edwin is busy writing and in pre-production for his much anticipated debut album due for release by the end of this year.
So what can we expect from a Singer’s Singer? Well take a look at his influences and diversity should certainly come to mind..
Edwin can sing anything and any style. This coming year see’s the launch in Dublin of " A Singer's Singer†an event that feature's Edwin Williamson and it is said, Variety is the spice of life and Edwin assures us the event will contain a mixture of original material and a selection of some of his favourite songs by his favourite writers. An eclectic set list that will showcase Edwin’s singing talents in different genres covering Melodramatic Pop, Classical , Soul, and popular world classics….
A event not to be missed…..where anyone who loves great singing will enjoy, as Edwin does what he does best, Sings his heart out!
