Failure Is Not an Option THE OFFICIAL BIO OF “MAC MAN” “MacMan” or “Bennie Mac” Bennie Mac is a young and strong minded entrepreneur and father of one beautiful daughter. MacMan’s been making waves in the Birmingham metro area with his mass promotions of various events in recent years. MacMan started off with parties & hair and fashion shows as a direct result of owning his own unisex barbershop. His desire to promote and spearhead those events collaboratively with other businesses in Birmingham, primarily opened doors for him – producing and hosting those events at some of Birmingham’s most renowned facilities; to name a few; the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center, the Boutwell Auditorium, and Mac's on 1st. A citizen of Birmingham Alabama, Bennie graduated Woodlawn High School in 1998, the second eldest of eight siblings, he learned quite early in life what it takes to make it in what many consider survival in mainstream America. This young brother’s take on life and personal motto happens to be “Failure is NOT an Option”. He remains strong willed and determined as he strives to build a reputation for himself amidst the entertainment community at large. Most notably, MacMan has promoted events in the Magic City with many local and national talents. He’s booked the likes of K. Dubb, Hope Flood, Sir Walt, Double D, and Gerald the Joker to name a few. Many of these talents have been featured on BET’s Comic View. “Bennie Mac” as he is known to his many clients and community, firmly believes that the entertainment structure in Birmingham is one that can be enhanced and requires a little footwork to make it happen. Using his own finances from his barbershop, Bennie Mac started MacMan Entertainment and Promotions in 2003 and haven’t been anything less than consistent and determined with his events and promotions. Surely, he will be the first to tell you that he doesn’t mind investing and taking calculated risks to fulfill his life works. He humbly says that his motivation is “independence and helping others.” While this young man remains very much approachable and down to earth in his day-to-day contacts, he’s definitely shown he’s great at what he does and brings a whole new meaning to being a “contemporary business- savvy young man”. In recent years, “Da DeepSouth Underground Connection” (MacMan’s slogan of MacMan Entertainment & Promotions) has brought to the stage numerous undiscovered and hard working talents that he feels should deservingly be front runners. As expected, those entertainers have shown why MacMan’s concept is truly an exceptional and unique blend in organizing his events. He remains determined and exemplifies wisdom beyond his twenty seven years of age. MacMan currently manages and promotes the talents of Eric “Big e” Johnson, and Felicia Elliison.
