About Me

After finishing his studies at the Genoa Conservatory, Cosimo Pomarico immediately joined the orchestra of the Carlo Felice Theatre as principal clarinettist. In 1949 he took part in the international competition held in Buenos Aires for the formation of a National Symphony Orchestra, coming out first as clarinet soloist. The success of these performances won his fame in the whole South America, where he was often engaged as a soloist in numerous orchestras. His inestimable experience made him become conscious of the necessity of finding the best material to make good mouthpieces. He soon discovered that crystal was the best sound conductor and the most precious material. This idea made him found in 1950 the Pomarico firm, which since his death, in 1990, is conducted by his son-in-law, Giorgio Clerici who is now introducing his son Riccardo, arriving in this way to the third generation of a family business. Pomarico is known world-wide, making every year his appearances in international fairs, and having its products distributed in almost every Country, from the USA to Australia, from Mexico to Japan, and in the whole Europe, that is at the moment its biggest market.
