Formed by BEN, LESTER and MIKE in 1998, The Bombjacks spent their first two to three years establishing themselves in the UK, playing up and down the country in the underground rock and pop/punk scene with temporary drummer Matt (Skirtbox) filling in on drums. The band quickly got a name for themselves, and built up a solid following. During this time, the band recorded two EPs, the first one being the 'HUNG UP' EP which was released on Bombjacks' guitarist's (Lester) record label, Hectic Records in '99. The second EP release was 'LETS SPLIT', which was a split EP released on a small indie label in 2000. Both ep's are now out of print.
Matt left the band in late 2000 to concentrate on Skirtbox and new drummer Peter was appointed. After touring throughout the summer and autumn of 2001 with various established US and European artists, the band then begun writing new material and recorded a 6 track EP, that was never actually released apart from some of the tracks appearing on various compilations.
In 2002 The Bombjacks added Guitarist Rob Dow, making the band a five piece and by 2003 signed a publishing and recording contract with the up-and-coming rock label, ALLSTAR RECORDINGS. Shortly after joining ALLSTAR the 'Jacks went into the studio and recorded their first full length album 'BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED' and sealed a licensing/distribution deal in Japan, with entertainments company Nihon Soft/CCC/Tsutaya, and publishing deal with Earthly Nine Inc.
The Bombjacks released a 5 track EP 'MIDNIGHT PICTURE SHOW' in Japan in May 2005 to coincide with their very successful '05 summer tour of Japan
The band split up shortly after touring Japan in 2005.
