Songwriter and Lyricist
I was obsessed with music from an early age and I've always been involved in composing and performing music. My precocious interest in lyrics became apparent at the age of 5 when quizzing my father closely about the meaning of Abba’s ‘Waterloo’, (yeah, but Dad, what's it about?), and kept developing into the teenage years via Wham! and Carly Simon when I began to write my own songs. I was brought up to love words and music, reading english literature and listening to classic pop, musical theatre and the songwriters of the 30s and 40s as well as classical repertoire.
I spent five years in the record business working for major labels. I've worked for the likes of Sony Music, Simon Cowell, Kelly Clarkson, Pop Idol, Westlife, BBC Music Live and Italia Conti.
I'm now a professional songwriter specialising in lyrics and top lines and I also teach songwriting at The Institute Of Contemporary Music in London.
My current projects include country and pop work with main collaborator Dario Cortese, songs for a forthcoming album from the super talented young star LOICK and the awesome band LAURA & THE TEARS.
