About Me

BUY THE NEW CD 'UNDER' AVAILABLE NOW!!!

A heart-felt sound track of an amazingly extraordinary, romantic and life changing adventure in Australia.

(Click on the CD icon and go to CDBABY to buy the CD)
Inspired by the soulful, naked approach of acoustic musicians such as Gillian Welch, Iron and Wine, Kelly Joe Phelps and Nick Drake, Kenny Schick's “classically” disciplined and avant garde approach to the acoustic/folk genre makes for a skillfully crafted, captivating approach to music that is illustrative and soul searching.
His 4th CD, the all acoustic ‘UNDER’, was written and recorded in St. Kilda Australia. Exposing and raw, it documents and reflects upon a ‘journey’ to the other side of the world. With recurring themes interweaving imagery of landscape, people, and the nakedness/struggle of self-rediscovery, this is a CD for ‘travelers’ - for those on a journey in search of an extraordinary life.
Kenny will be touring the States from August to November 2008 along with his partner and fellow musician Sabine whom he met in Australia.

Sounds Like: avant-garde urban country folkBasement 3 is where primal meets urban. it is flavors and rhythms of world music fed by the fury of punk, industrial, and avant garde jazz, all served with a side of pop. It sounds like what might happen if Maynard James Keenan, King Sunny Ade, Gillian Welch, PJ Harvey, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, and John Coltrane rented a limo, tipped back a few drinks, picked up Morphine (the band and/or the drug), and crashed a Portishead concert, and then began channeling the spirits of elliot smith, nick drake, curt cobain, and jeff buckley.
