History
HereTama Nui celebrates 37 years in existence in Hawai'i. It was first founded by Denise Kauhionamauna Kia Ramento under the name of "Pupukahi O'te'a" in 1971. In 1980 the name was changed to "Aloha Pumehana O Hawai'i". The halau was recognized throughout Hawai'i for its outstanding Tahitian drumming, dancing and the preservation of the Hawaiian hula. Today HTN Productions, HereTama Nui Dance School continues the legacy of Polynesian culture in Hawai'i and Tahiti.
Goal
Our goal is to perpetuate and share the living art of Tahitian dancing, music, drumming and Hawaiian Hula to all people of all walks of life. We strive to promote our island culture with pride and dignity. Every person will learn the value and the joy of living through an art form of music and dance.
