He had always been interested in music and decided to take it to a professional level at the age of 12 years when his uncle, whom he had often imitated, died at the hands of gunmen in the Tivoli Gardens area. After committing to a professional career in music, Webstah proceeded to write and catalogue his music. The young singer/songwriter credits his sound to influence from his late uncle, Docy, Tupac Shakur, R. Kelly, Boyz II Men, Beenie Man and Bob Marley.Webstah has decided to use his music as an influence to the youths of Jamaica and has since then entered various competitions to get him heard. He did not become discouraged, however, when, after entering Magnum’s Kings and Queens of Dancehall in 2007, he failed to make it to the studio finals. This very eclectic artiste has done various performances across the island, including Simple Chaos Entertainment’s Live Up On The Roof and will continue to work on honing his writing skills. Webster: The singer with the weeping voice and yes, it is quite unique. Webster is one of the members of M.D.M.P. and who is also responsible for singles such as ‘Mama don’t cry’ and ‘All dem a try stop this’.Like many other Jamaican sing-jays, Webster hails from the inner city. Unlike many other inner city youths, he went above and beyond taking up a life of crime to beat the odds and pursue a music career. He will no doubt stand out in a crowd as his voice is one of a kind. A quiet persona embodies his musical abilities which include writing as well as singing his own songs.Now an example to his community, he takes pride in his work and hopes to be an ambassador for hope to all inner city youths.
