ALLI D is a bleached-blonde hair, little girl from Cali. Nothing about this girl is ordinary and that is evident all the way from the day she was born. Her mother, Nancy, went into labor early and was unable to make it to the hospital in time. Her father, Russ, had to deliver her in the front seat of a 1983 Nissan Sentra!!!!! Her mother always told Alli that she simply could not wait to come into the world, and that passion and excitement for life has been characteristic of her personality ever since!
As Alli grew up she fell in love with music. When she was a little girl she never had dreams of being a doctor or a teacher, she had one dream...to sing! She began performing in school and at church. Her family recognized from a young age that Alli had an extraordinary gift and they immediately jumped on board to help her follow her dreams.
When Alli reached junior high school she became friends with a girl who was a singer and had access to a recording studio. Through this friend Alli was able to write and record her first song. After this experience, her passion for writing music began to grow. She would listen to beats and write down everything she was feeling and thinking in her pink notebook. It is the greatest accomplishment for Alli to see her little ideas come to life in a song. She writes or co-writes all of her own songs.
From that point on Alli began to make friends in the music industry and started recording with various producers. She joined a traveling singing group in high school and worked on perfecting her performing skills. She saw everyday as a chance to pursue her dreams, but was unsure of how she would actually get to where she wanted to go.
After finishing up high school Alli enrolled in Pepperdine University. She was able to pursue music her entire high school career and manage to get good grades at the same time! She was having fun partying it up in college but her dreams of being a singer would not subside.
Alli heard about an audition for a new girl group that was taking place at Millenium Dance Studios in Los Angeles. Although she had always been a solo singer, she figured it could be a great opportunity and she tried out. Alli was immediately cast as one of the members of the group. This experience definitely showed Alli the trials that she would face if she continued on in this industry. Waking up at 6am for personal training and dance practice every Friday night was far from the glamorous life!!! It was definitely a test of perseverance for Alli and it made her want it even more. Her work ethic improved tremendously and she showed herself for the first time that she could turn her dreams into realities!
The girl group ended up parting ways, but Alli couldn’t go back to how her life was before. She continued to write music and sing for whoever she could. By chance she ended up meeting genius producer, Tommy Henriksen. Tommy and Alli shared the same vision for making quality music and came up with the track, PUSH IT, that they wrote together.
Alli considers herself very lucky to be working with such talented people. She is so excited to see what 2008 will hold for her!
