About Me

D-Boy P. Chase was born in San Jose, CA and lived there until he was seven years old. Then he and his mother moved to San Diego, CA which is the city Chase adopted as his hometown because it is all he knows. Hence the reason you hear him holla out DAYGO or six one nine which is the area code of San Diego in a lot of his songs. D-Boy P. Chase started rapping when he was 14 years old and soon after he met up with the members who would eventually form the group The Fedaralz. While in the group D-Boy P. Chase's name used to be Destro the name that most people know him by in San Diego because he did a large number of emcee battles and shows under this alias. However, he was unable to copyright that name because of legal reasons so he chooses to use his other alias he is now known well for D-Boy P. Chase.
The Scratch N Sniff Mixtape is the first of many solo projects to come from D-Boy P. Chase and is a chance to get to hear this west coast lyricist spit 16's all over bangin ass beats and it gives plenty of insight on what this up and coming artist is prepared to do. "The Scratch N Sniff Mixtape is just my way of showing muthafuckas that Daygo got spitters too." Says Chase with a chronic filled grape swisher sweet dangling from his lips. "I wasn't worried about having a well rounded album or no shit like that cause it's just a mixtape so I was just focused on spitting the illest shit I could think of." By judging the mixtape that features all the artist on Faultline Entertainment (i.e. Juju, Garth Grizz, Xact, T-Twise & Dat Dude O) and also a variety of guests like Johaz (of Deep Rooted), Smigg Dirtee, Too Much, Kilo D, The Wax Click, Rio, Submission, Bobby Triggaz, and plenty more...he has spit some of the illest shit indeed.
"Although, for most people this is the first time they're hearing about me, but I'm no rookie. I've been putting in hella work for years so all of this exposure is a result of paying dues." says the self proclamied San Diego hometown hero while pointing to the 50's style microphone tattooed on his right forearm. "I'm not one of these rappers who just started to rap because it looks like a good way to make a profit. I mean don't get me wrong I love money just as much as the next nigga that's why my click is called The Dough Nation, but this tattoo says My First True Love for a reason." D-Boy P. Chase says he has been inspired by a wide range of musicians from NWA, Too Short, Public Enemy, Big Daddy Kane, Redman, Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, Biggie, Jay-Z, & Eminem on down to other genres of music like Jimi Hendrix, Sublime, Sade, Mary J. Blige, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Eek-A-Mouse, Luther Vandross and all kinds of 60's, 70's, & 80's soul classics. "I can find inspiration in all kinds of music and just because I rap doesn't mean that's all I can listen to. Listening to those types of artists puts me in the zone that I can think outside the box."
With DJ Demon mixing his songs up and improving the quality of the CD many people consider this D-Boy P. Chase's coming out album. However, he has been a part of a lot of projects such as The Fedaralz - The Fedaral Invasion, Writerz Block - Both Sides of The Tracks, Stylistic Jones's Mixtape, Doja Mac's - The Samplation, Smigg Dirtee's - The Streets Favorite and even Shortys Fulfill The Dream & Guilty videos. Also he has been out on the streets making a name for himself through freestyles and special guest appearances. "It has taken me what seems like forever to get to this point so now I'm going extra hard in the booth and even harder when it comes to my business." says Chase "I feel like I got everything ready to go cause I'm already working on my new mixtape The 80's Baby while our group album and mixtape is being pressed up and The Dough Nation CD is smashing if I may say so myself." So now my mind is right and I'm a seasoned veteran! I'm more motivated than ever to reach my goals so now I pretty much eat, drink, & sleep in the studio like LET'S GET IT!!!
D-Boy P. Chase's name comes from the fact his alias is Paper Chaser because he literally has money on his mind almost all the time. That's why his favorite song on the new mixtape is called "Show Me The Money" which is his anthem and it pretty much explains it all. This is one reason Chase likes to focus on the business side of this music industry. He's the type that wants to know what's going on behind the scenes and he doesn't let much distract him away from the studio. With few execptions like his heart & soul which is his son Xavier whom is his true motivation and inspiration to make this more than just a part time hobby and more like a tool to give him and his family security for the future.
