“When other little girls were playing house I was playing d.j. While in my imaginary studio I would put on a pair of headphones, plug them into the radio, and talk over each song played into a flashlight I had converted into my very own mic. I love music and I love to talk even more, so being a radio personality comes naturally. Her career began in high school at the tender age of 16, she has been blessed to work in some great stations like Chicago (her hometown) for 106 JAMZ, 95.7 JAMZ in Birmingham, Hot 97.7 in Jackson, K97 in Memphis and V104.9 in the Gulf Coast. Once again, while holding down the mid-day slot Simone won audiences over with her candid conversation and sista’ girl tell-it-like-it-is delivery delicately balanced by a kind heart and a listening ear. Her ability to boost ratings is what landed her as the 1 rated mid-day personality in her new radio home in Cincinnati, OH for 101.1 The Wiz.This determined and dedicated young woman is definitely making moves, but she never forgets that to whom much is given much is required. She is constantly searching for new and innovative ways to give back to the communities that have given her so much support. In 2002 she began holding free Sister-TWO-Sister empowerment luncheons designed to give mothers and their daughters an opportunity to listen to experts discuss important topics such as domestic violence, sexually transmitted diseases and self-love. She also hosts an annual Christmas tree trimming party for women and children living in a local shelter and a celebrity basketball game benefiting high school athletic programs. In 2006 she started Simone’s Enchanted Evening Prom Dress Drive for high school girls that couldn’t afford to attend their prom. And this October (2007) she put together her 1st Annual Can I…?? Awareness and Celebrity Weekend to raise awareness and money for women and children of Domestic Violence in the Cincinnati area.
