FINALLY, Funk for Boys Profile_stars_5
By Bubba G.
GladRags has FINALLY started carrying cool boy clothes. If anyone shows up at this show without a new piece of cool from the Rag we'll all know you're too cheap and lazy to walk farther than your own tired closet. We've all seen your stuff, you need something new. I'll be the one in the new black cowboy shirt with big red roses on it. And man-o-man what a shopping experience. That store is always full of cooler women than you, who are making themselves look cooler than you deserve. Some of your stuff was cool before, but bring in your best stuff so some of the rest of us have a chance to wear it...

Audrey Hepburn would eat this up... Profile_stars_5
By Dale D.
Glad Rags is a feast for the fashionable. Sick of the same 'ol diet of tedious mall stalls? I was starved for a place with character and style. Many of my most fabu pieces have been found on Glad Rags racks. Prices are so reasonable that I can have a great vintage dress altered and it's still a deal. Specializing in funky, hip clothing, I was surprised when I found a sexy, classic, high end pin stripe suit. If Jackie O wore the pants this place would suit her.

not for the corporate clone... Profile_stars_5
By nb r.
i drive an hour to get to glad rags. i'd drive two. it's got vintage, flax, bake-lite, blu fish, the odd high-end funky designer piece... the perfect place for the perfect party threads. and there are always a lot of things at half price (everything goes on sale after it's been there a few weeks).
a rare bastion against the corporate conservatism of the day. there are a couple stores in its league in baltimore (my favorite: minas gallery in hampden), a bunch in san francisco and new orleans, but too few in stuffy dc. the owner is a doll, with a killer sense of style. filght against the mall-ification of america and buy your christmas and birthday presents here!

Glad Rags is an addiction! Profile_stars_5

The greedy side of me doesn't want to write a review. I want this store to remain my hidden gem!
This store is located in Takoma Park, but walking into this store you'll feel like you're on Haight & Ashbury or in Fells Point. From the vintage barbie clad walls to the most amazing dressing rooms ever- This place is a great place to find unique items. Everytime i go in there I find something. It's not your typical consignment shop...if you're looking for Ann Taylor or Talbot's- look elsewhere. This place is packed with fun, funky garb. On the nice weathered weekends they "yard sales" where you can pick up any clothing item for $1! Ther owner, Jody is there during the week- she always remembers me (love that!) & seems chipper & spunky & makes the shopping experience fun.
The Only bad part- parking is a little tight (park across the street at the meters, or in the Takoma Park CoOp Parking! It's worth it!

Cute Vintagey Shop Profile_stars_4
By Leah H.
Glad Rags has a good selection of vintage clothing, including dresses, sweaters, shoes, jewelry and bags. It is a small store but there is a lot stuffed into it. It is pretty reasonably priced for a consignment store, but you sort of have to go back often to get the really good finds. The staff is very friendly.

small store with great stuff Profile_stars_4

Glad Rags is located in the downtown of Takoma Park. It's a small store, but has some fun vintage finds. They had a nice selection of jewelry and bakelite when I was there, and tons of dresses, sweaters, and shoes. This would be a great place to look for a fancy vintage dress. Prices are reasonable and the owner seems to know lots of her regular customers--always a good sign.
