The RAW SICKERTS were a band from Valencia City in the East Coast of Spain. We, as a band, had a short life of five irregular years, starting in april 2001. We finally split up in 2005 due to luck of management, musical differences, changes of line-up and the general luck of interest that prevails in a dull and uninteresting place like Valencia City were rock'n'roll bands are bound to lose from the very start. We played in every possible place in this bloody city (and some parts of the rest of the country) and recorded an EP containing four songs full of high energy rock'n'roll of the first rank. This, of course, was to no avail as we couldn't ever get a decent record deal to make The RAW SICKERTS a rock music project for the 21st century, at least here, in this part of the country. Thus, the band folded.
The surviving songs from this period were recorded (as early as 2002) with very modest means and a very thin production, the sound is not representative enough to discern the capabilities and sheer force of the band as a powerful unit in concert, where very sparse but enthusiastic audiences could 'enjoy' the stormy assault of our guitar holocaust.
I have included a new song from my first solo album sessions in 2007 (http://www.myspace.com/sydbelenger2007). “Let It Burn†was one of the songs we used to play when the Raw Sickerts still existed. The sound of it gets quite close to what it sounded like on stage. Enjoy.
