Mike J was born Michael Jones Jr. on September 9, 1976 to Bishop Michael & Brenda Jones. Growing up on the eastside of Detroit, and in his fathers church (The Fountain of Truth), made it easy for Mike J to develop an ear for music at an early age. One of his first musical endeavors was a group he founded called “The Fountain Brothersâ€, in which Mike J was also a member. He later went on to become the Director of the Youth Choir, Heavenly Voices. God has really shown himself in Minister Mike J’s life. He now serves as the Praise and Worship Leader and Music Director for the Fountain of Truth Baptist Church. Mike J has been blessed and fortunate to share the stage and record with many anointed singers such as The Famous Peggy James, William Murphy III, Rod Lumpkin, Lisa Paige Brooks, Daryl Cooley, Charles Laster, the late Lizzie Berry, and Evelyn Turntinee Agee. He has also worked with a number of local Detroit favorites such as Stephanie Pride, Shana Wilson, Gayle Brannon, Charles Curry, and many more. Mike J has been a part of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship’s Music Department since 2004. In that same year he was blessed to have an opportunity to record his own album entitled “Anointing.†But his ministry does not end there. Mike J is currently working on a follow up album, to be released at a later date. This faithful vessel of God not only devotes his love and time to the ministry, but he is also devoted to his lovely wife Sharlyn Jones and his wonderful son Michael III.Although this road can get tedious, Mike J holds on the to The Word of God that says, BUT WHOSO LOOKETH INTO THE PERFECT LAW OF LIBERTY, AND CONTINUETH THEREIN, HE BEING NOT A FORGETFUL HEARER, BUT A DOER OF THE WORK, THIS MAN SHALL BE BLESSED IN HIS DEED…..
