About Me

It all started when I was about 8. The old man was getting lessons from a mate, and there happened to be a spare giutar in one of the other rooms, so I grabbed it and snuck lessons by peaking around the corner hoping not to get caught for having the guitar. They caught me and I thought I was gonna get my ass kicked. I got lessons instead. Just chords and simple songs, but it was a start. As a teenager I started playing 'Heavy Metal' (lol) stuff like Nirvana and Guns'N'Roses in Dysart, Central Qld. We formed a band during my apprenticeship with the boys who went on to form THE STUNTPEGS ( www.myspace.com/thestuntpegs ), while my interests swerved over to country music. I have always had a close affiliation with the bush and the people in it. I like stories about things, songs that break my heart (and somehow fix it at the same time???), of course, I miss my dogs (long story) so they feature a bit too.My music is a blend of all these things and comes out like none of them! But what can you do, eh? I can't pinpoint my genre, it's best left at acoustic alt/folk/blues/country I guess. Now I play every Thursday night at the Prince Albert Hotel in Williamstown before running the open mic night there. Wally and Nicki (owners of The Albert) love music, and put a lot of effort into doing what they can for the industry, especially those starting out. ....
