My perspective thesemornings undoubtedly reside nonconformablythan that of my childhood mind. All I wantedto do when I was eleven was find a way tosequence multiple sounds together. Therewere many ways to do so at that time, butnone easy, that the few quarters in mypocket could afford back then. Take a timemachine back to my beginning days of"sequencing" and find a little Michael andbrother Kevin using old analog taperecorders and casio keyboards to build upsounds and vocals to make music. Theequipment we used back then would be anobject of laughter to a child of today.Industry has come a long way since then.Today, we have unlimited track-count,digital processing, pitch correcting,sample-based recording, and production toolsthatnecessitate a full semester course to learn. I've stayedin front and connected with this evolvingmonster. If you stop to smell the flowers, you get lost in the dust...far behind. Butlet's not forget the one and most importantthing that has never changed, willcontinually be a challenge, and is whatinspires: Good Song Writing!
