I have been blessed for some odd reason in this life being able to move between cultures and live within the ones I have wanted too. Unknown to me many years ago I stepped out of the conditioning forced on me as a child .I left the illusion of security and safety behind and chased my dream.. As result I became a successful performer , dancer, artist. Freeing my mind in such a manner allowed me to see life as a living thing . Something that can never be predicted and surely never measured by thought and memory. The best thing was to be able to see that the life I viewed and the life I live are the same with no separations or gaps of time
Now I am able to live my passions of travel, motorcycles and radical self expression.It's odd how the joy of life will just find you when your not seeking it.Last year I took my chopper to the smokey mountains. It was a clear fall day the sky was so blue the clouds looked like big white balls of cotton candy. so close I thought I could just reach up and grab one. The colors from the tress were overwhelming I don't have the words to define it. I pulled over to an overlook. Underneath that overlook was a valley full of blueberry bushes that had turned a deep burgundy. As I sat there trying to take everything in , it hit and I said " Damn I could be sitting in some cubical right now counting the seconds down until I could leave."
Today my body prefers I drum rather than dance. So I enjoy drum circles. I work hard, play hard not always in that order haha ! I am excited to see what the day will bring .I look ward to 2009 I plan on taking a lot of time for myself this coming year. Instead of all the belly dance shows I plan on travailing the USA and Europe and finally make it to Rome. Instead of dancing I think I will teach. Hell Maybe I will even meet that one girl who will make me see why all the others were so wrong.
