Chosen by BILLBOARD MAGAZINE as one of the TOP INDEPENDENT ARTISTS IN THE UNITED STATES, - GORDON VINCENT IS A SINGER SONGWRITER ON THE EDGE . . . OF SOMETHING!His blend of roots-rock, americana, folk and blues has inspired comparisons to JOHN MAYER and KRIS KRISTOFFERSON. He has been described as "SPRINGSTEEN armwrestling WAITS in DYLAN'S kitchen" (Nashville Rage); a "stripped-down DAVE MATTHEWS", and even once, as "a young ROBERT MITCHUM with a guitar." His own heroes range from JACK KEROUAC and D.H. LAWRENCE to JIMMY PAGE and THE BEATLES.Gordon Vincent grew up in the working-class shadows of the North Jersey oil refineries. He has spent the better part of 10 years in Nashville and more than likely is currently somewhere between Phoenix,AZ and Cape May, NJ.Following the critical success of his first two albums, YOU SHOULD KNOW (2004) and RINGER, both on Hornepayne Records, Nashville, Gordon rededicated himself to writing songs. His new disc, tentatively entitled, A MILLION MILES, (produced by americana iconoclast, Tom Ghent) spotlights his depth and range as an artist, while nurturing a profound appreciation for his audience.Gordon Vincent is planning on promoting the new cd by touring the northeast. Dates will be announced soon.He was recently featured as an "Emerging Artist" at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival.
