Stonehill

CARSTEN SANDER grew up with the music of Bob Dylan. When he got hold of his first guitar he consequently stroke the first chords to songs of Dylan and other singer/songwriters of that time. Through some friends he later came to Irish folk and still plays in an Irish folk band with them. But he never forgot his roots. He began writing own songs and a few years ago decided to do something with them. He got in touch with some musicians he knew to win them for this project. It did not take much time and efforts and he was joined by ARIANE KLAUS who also comes from the Irish folk scene. Her violin is a very important part in this formation. MAIK HAUPTMEIER who plays solo and rythm guitar and his brother MALTE HAUPTMEIER who plays bass guitar came on board silmutaneously. Both are singing back vocals as well. To complete the band a drummer/percussionist had to be found. KAI FRICKE was just the right guy. His international experience as drummer (Kingdom Come) and sound engineer (he worked for artists like David Lindley) put it all together. STONEHILL was born.
