This is a plain indication of God's righteous judgment so that you will be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which indeed you are suffering.
For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,
and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire,

Will I really meet Him one day? - My ultimate question, after struggling with this and other verses for some time. Several times before, and again now.
Patience and diligence is vital in the process of seeking, and I admit I am always asking for more of both because I just don't seem to have enough of either one.
Some answers have been revealed, and my hope is for more to come because "You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word." - Psalm 119:114 To seek HIS truth is to seek Life...so we should continue to seek and let our HOPE (in the things unseen) mature and deepen..."We also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance (brings about) proven character; and proven character (brings about) HOPE; and HOPE does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us."

More importantly, God's Love was so immeasurable that, despite all our filthiness and shameful ways, He assigned HIS OWN Son, Christ, to not only die for every one of us sinners, but to also teach and provide people and generations with His Father's Word, Rebuke, and Wisdom. We shouldn't only accept Jesus as simply a sacrafice to redeem us and then move on with our 'comfortable' lives, without serious considerations of adjusting habits and lifestyles. It's difficult I know, as I am guilty of worldly temptations as well. But we must strive and KEEP STRIVING...
