The Aardvarks are in a writers block and in a little hiatus...
One could say that we have bitterly sunk under the waves of the scene in Fort Smith into a dark dark cold ocean full of nothing but sharks and pitch black.
In other words we've almost given up, it's so hard to write new material with the constant opinions of the people you are playing for changing, it is almost like trying to play a game of Tetris without knowing the shape your about to put down. To be honest this could be the end of AAA, I'm really really hoping maybe and even dreaming of sitting down and just writing out such godly music and coming back with a return show and making an entire venue full of people be like DUDE ZOMG THE NEW AAA STUFF IS SICK, but the more I think about it their opinion on us would be based almost entirely on others opinions on us... our scene has a lot of maturing. Why not go anywhere else? Well we really can't, we can't just go somewhere else hoping for a crowd, we've tried trust me. I think we have more listeners out of Arkansas anyways then we do in our home city, which is so irritating. If your still reading my complaining I love you.
Anyways, well try to write some more stuff, and honestly I love Monster Heart so much, if you have never heard of them go to their myspace right now it's amazing, but they may be our saviors. They have managed to introduce more artistic and vocal music to our scene and people like it, they have also brought an older crowd, a crowd that wants more than power cords and m2 chords shot together with ungodly amounts of distortion followed by pterodactyl vocals.
Anyways... we are resting and maybe we can get something going, I really have no idea. In the mean time, I (clay) am doing an acoustic project and might be doing something with Willows, Drake has his shred site and is working with a band in Van Buren, Hunters is getting something together, and Jp has developed interest in Fruity loops god save us all.
The best thing you could do is to tell us you like Aardvarks, you don't even have to mean it. If we had more support we would be much more encouraged to go on, that's all it really takes is appreciation. Constructive criticism anything really would be nice, just appreciation is all I ask for. Thanks to those who have been there since the beginning, we love you (especially Jp's mom)
