About Me

Our music in our words
Let’s see…how to describe Crossing Oceans?
We’re a trio of guitar, bass and drums, so I guess you could think of Rush, only not nearly as talented. Don’t think about Rush from the 70’s and early 80’s, all fire-grilled and tangy, with the 10-18 minute Fantasy/Sci-Fi epic arrangements, screaming falsetto vocals, and aggressive time signature changes. We’re more like Rush from the late 80’s ‘til present: 4-6 minute slow-cooked, savory tunes, with radio-friendly choruses and softer, story-telling vocals, but with a hint of that special Rush hot sauce in the music to make it magical.
We like to throw a little bit of spice into our original arrangements, so you might detect a Latin, Country, Folk, Funk, Punk, or Caribbean flavor in the mix once in a while. But whatever the spice added to embellish the dish, the underlying flavor is always Crossing Oceans; a straight-up Rock n’ Roll band with a desire to have fun and play music to which you can dance, tap, hum, or shake your fist.
