7Envy began as a singer/songwriter duo in 2007 with Kelly Bennett and Jose Valencia. After performing for a couple of months throughout New York and New Jersey, 7Envy decided it was time to expand their band as well as their sound. While preparing for a battle of the bands, we asked fellow classmates Feggens Monbrun and Jon Reilly to sit in and fill up our sound. That's when 7Envy's sound and lineup really took shape. The rock guitar stylings of José Valencia; combined with the bluesy lyric vocals of Kelly Bennett; along with the funk driven bass lines of Feggens Monburn; and with the Hard hitting percussion of Jon Reilly makes the unique sound that is 7Envy which draws a unique crowd and is suitable for any singer songwriter or rock band barroom scenario. 7Envy is presently working toward their primary LP release. The band also is well versed in various popular covers, including works by bands such as Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Pink Floyd, and Tool among others. What's great about us is we draw influences from all forms of music from Classical, Rock, Punk, and Funk. Our sound and chemistry on stage is undeniable.
