About Me

Hey, thanks for visiting!!

In the mid-late 80s, I played guitar for heavy metal bands "Armageddon," and later "Black Eden," both bands toured the Minnesota and Wisconsin club circuits extensively. In 1990, I left the Midwest and relocated to Hollywood, CA to attend Musicians Institute (GIT), from which I graduated in 1991. I remained in the Hollywood area for another year or so, then relocated to New Orleans with a band that I was referred to through MI.

Not long after arriving in New Orleans, the "referral band" broke up - and I got an offer to play with the Boo LaCrosse Band. All-original material (a combination of many different styles, but basically very groove-oriented rock) we played from 9pm to 4am each gig - what a great band! Miss ya', Boo!

But the best thing that happened to me in New Orleans was the birth of my son, Randall Davidson Rapp - August 16th, 1993. Randy's doing excellent now, heading into his junior year of high school - getting nothing but A's and B's for grades. Rock star!

In 1995, I returned to the west coast (San Diego) and worked for Taylor Guitars for 5 years, and since then I've been basically just keeping up my chops and doing occasional work on the side.

In late 2004, I began learning to fly helicopters and it has since become my profession, as a certified flight instructor and commercial pilot. I returned to Minnesota permanently in Sept. 2007, and I'm currently working at Complete Helicopters, Inc. in Blaine, MN (http://www.completehelicopters.com).

We'll see what the future holds for getting back into the music scene here.

Up the irons!!
