About Me

It is said that the path to success begins with a step in the right direction, and with his right foot forward Tod Pronto is doing just that. Born and raised in a small town in Northeastern Vermont, Tod seemed destined to a life in entertainment. Acting and music captivated Tod at an early age. It was at the age of 5 years old that Tod first hit the stage. Since then the stage has been quite a comfortable place for him. "I feel more confident singing to a crowd than I do singing to two people in my own living room", says Tod.Tod began writing his own music at the age of 15 years old when he bought his first guitar. He hit the studio to record his first album in 1997, after only a year of playing guitar seriously. The result was a four song cassette called simply, Tod Pronto. Tod promoted the album playing coffee houses and small Folk Music festivals until his next album would be recorded and released. That album was a full length cd entitled SupercalifragilstcexpalaDigThis!. He promoted this album the same as the others, playing coffee shops and festivals earning him a good fan base in Vermont. In the summer of 1998, while opening a show for the band Sandoze, he was asked to contribute a song to a compilation album. Among some of the other musical acts were: Poole, Sandoze and Park, all of whom were alternative rock bands. Tods acoustic folk based song entitled The Thrill of Being Common became the title song of the album.Tod began writing and performing again with new a enthusiasm and direction. He even started a short lived band again called Dead Thunderbird in hopes to record another album and catch the full feeling of his country, blues, rock hybrid. In the meantime Tod would make the trip to Nashville to sing at writers nights and knock on doors whenever he had saved enough money. His hard work began to pay off in the winter of 2003. Tod met fellow Vermonter and Nashville recording artist Wayne Warner. Shortly after Tod and Wayne began seriously discussing getting him into a Nashville recording studio and cutting a few songs. And the train has kept on rolling. In the fall of 2005 Tod was asked to contribute his song Money and a Suitcase to a compilation album put out by Shut Eye Records called "The United State of Americana Vol. 3". The album featured artists such as Jeff Black , The Greencards and more. Tod's song was the first cut on the album that went on to reach ..20 on the Roots Rock Airplay Report. Tod is creating quite a buzz between fans and music industry insiders alike. Producer/Guitarist Troy Lancaster says, "Tod has created a niche for himself in roots rock and country, a niche with attitude!" If you ask Tod, thats what it's all about. Music with no attitude is just music.www.todpronto.com
