About Me

I am a child of God. I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister and a friend. I am beyond blessed in my life. My name is Desta, it's Ethiopian. It means happiness. My mom lived there for a year before she got married. She came back to the states, got married and had me. I have only met one other Desta in my life and she is still lives in Ethiopia - Desta Haggos, an artist. My dream was to be on Saturday Night Live. I was a Youth Minister for 7 years and loved it. I left to be a full time mom since I am married to a Pastor - 2 people in ministry was too much with a baby. Now I am the ELCA Synod Youth Ministry support person for youth ministers in our area. It is my goal to connect them and network them together. I am a mom and don't have to shower everyday if I don't want to! =) I love playing the guitar but don't have a lot of time to play these days. I can beat any of ya'll at Super Mario Brothers - bring it on! I have my 10 year college reunion (CLU) coming up in October. We just bought a minivan and I cannot believe how much I love it... That's my life...the dream changed.
