I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

BI NKA BI (BITE NOT EACH OTHER), AN ADINKRA SYMBOL FROM GHANA, IS REPRESENTED BY A STYLIZED IMAGE OF TWO FISHES ATTEMPTING TO BITE EACH OTHER'S TAIL. IT IS A SYMBOL OF PEACE, HARMONY, UNITY, FORGIVENESS AND FAIRPLAY AND IS ALSO A WARNING AGAINST BACK-BITING.

Ngizama ukukhuluma isiZulu; Maa ngi jeem lakk Wolof, Estoy tratando hablar Español, Je voudrais apprendre le Français aussi.

I am being a bit more selective with personal information in light of some recent threats by white nationalists/nazis/supremacists. This has turned such an enjoyable way to reach out to like-minded people into a traumatic and scary experience. We should all be careful who we add as friends - there are nazis lurking around with profiles that are set up to look like people who you would be interested in making friends with, activist-type profiles with pictures that look like you. They attempt to get close to you, call you sista and brotha and try to get information to hurt you. This is what happened to me. Be careful! We shall not be deterred from our mission! Walk with your left foot forward, your heart leading you in the direction of African liberation. As it was in the beginning, so shall it be in the end. Asé.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet anyone doing something - artistically, physically, mentally, psychologically, cosmologically for the spiritual, mental, psychological and physical liberation of African people...Pan Africanists and others genuinely interested in the liberation of the image of African people, so that our children won't have to spend their lives in defense of us; they can instead spend their lives building institutions for our communities. I'm not really into the whole paternalistic thing so if you think you can "SAVE AFRICA" please, please, please just hit the back button on your browser (I said please). I am not interested in networking with the new generation of colonists who want to appropriate African culture and spirituality, sometimes through African men. There is a fine line between appreciation of someone's culture and appropriation of their culture. I think if everyone is grounded in their own culture and there can be discussion without domination and sharing without theft then we can begin the process of learning about each other honestly; I celebrate that type of diversity! How can I learn about you if you are trying to be me? It is the Elvis, Michael Bolton, Eminem syndrome and trust me it's not flattery, just ask Little Richard, Ronald Isley or Big Mama Thornton.I would like to network with artists and activists who have a pure heart in working within their own communities, planting the seeds for the harvest of the fruits we may not see, but that will enrich and nourish our people to greatness again. It takes a long time to heal from such brutality and we have not yet resuscitated our image; thus, the healing cannot begin until truth is unveiled for the world to see. There will be many to harvest, but few will do the great work of planting. It is through this work that our names will be spoken and thus we will live forever through our positive deeds, Asé.
