Here goes...
Writing a bio about yourself isn’t easy…
I grew up in Northern BC in a small town called Fort St. John, made up of about 17,000 people… don’t quote me. I lived with my parents, two sisters, and brother up until 2004. We lived ‘out in the country’ on a 5.5-acre lot with a stream running through the back that I loved to run through barefoot. In 2004 I moved to Victoria for Dental Assisting school and have been down this way for the past 4 years.
I have always had my families support with my music. However, at times such as 7 in the morning when I was singing at the top of my lungs, my sisters made me well aware that my voice was more of an annoyance then a pleasure to listen to. Sisterly love. Since then I have seen the proud look on my sister’s faces when I’ve performed. So ha! Shower singing paid off J Thanks for putting up with me .My dad would always say to my mom, ‘she should do something with that,’ and ‘ oh ya, pretty good’ when I’d sing him a song. My dad is a man of few words. His words always mean a lot though. Mom showed her support by videotaping any performances that I had, helping me pick suitable songs and tearing up when I’d sing them to her. Still to this day we judge how meaningful something is to my mom by how much she cries. Little brother, I have always had fun singing songs with you and think you have the singing bug deep down inside of you somewhere too. Thanks to the support of everyone else that has been with me along the way.
I have only performed at a few events, my grade 12 graduation, my grandparent’s 50th anniversary, a couple of family weddings and some coffee shops. I’m hoping to add a few more places to that list. I’ve recently started writing some of my own lyrics and with the help of my boyfriend/guitar player/producer… etc I’ve been able to share them with you! There are a few songs on here that we have covered: Almost Lover by A Fine Frenzy and Here by my by Three Doors Down. The rest are originals. We’re still writing and will hopefully be able to perform at a few coffee shops to start out and we’ll see where it goes from there.
I still sing in the shower!
