We'll All Be Singing When It's Over

About Me

Seven years later, and seven hundred miles away from home, the founding members of Kentucky's pop/rock quartet East 146 Chris Stahl (vocals/guitar) and Devin O'Daniel (drums) found their other half Sal Sparaccio (guitar) and Adam Tepfer (bass) from the ashes of Long Island's Big City Lights. What happens when four people with the same dream and passion find one another? An explosive sound of swirling guitar pop, choruses dripping with sugar and a rhythm section that adds drama to the rock is what happens.
Musically the band draws as much from the 80's of Bon Jovi, U2 and Peter Gabriel, as they do from Jimmy Eat World, Switchfoot, and the Goo Goo Dolls with a Foo Fighters-ish edge.
Born in a small town in Kentucky off of Highway 146 with a population of (850), the music and the dream needed a place far bigger to truly breathe. It was just too big for the farmland of New Castle or the other musicians surrouding the band. Yet even with such humble beginnings, the founding members cut their teeth by first recording a low budget album they sold to fellow students and then graduating to an EP produced at Nashville's Melody Hill Farm. Armed with their EP and the taste of rock n' roll lifestyle from their consistent 250+ draw, the original quartet hit the road in a 1987 conversion van aptly named the "Maroon 5" and toured everything from bowling alleys, skate parks and YMCA's from Kentucky to Los Angeles and back in 2004.
The experience found them struggling as a 3-piece which would inspire the material that would be released in 2005 on Cherry Pop Records entitled Serendipity. Serendipity was launched the very day the band performed in the Kentucky Derby Festival Parade on top of a float pulled by a semi in front of over 250,000+ people as well as a nationally televised audience. Armed with the inspiration and the positive feedback they hit the East coast touring high schools book ended by CMJ and NEMO.
East 146 found out what the "east" meant in their name when they felt like they had arrived home during their East Coast tour. They moved to Manhattan, leaving Kentucky behind, but not forgotten, on Valentine's Day 2006 and set in motion the destiny that found the beat to their heart on Long Island. The past two years the band has had a revolving cast of home sick members without passion, all the while figuring out life and finding a way to pay the rent and make music in a place some call the "concrete jungle."
At the same time Sal and Adam had been playing in bands that toured non-stop, either never stopping to write more or losing members who couldn't hack sweating in the trenches. They decided to keep their rehearsal space and kept their chops up knowing the right combination was just around the corner. Sal placed an ad on absolutepunk.net and Chris saw the ad within minutes of it's posting. They started talking, writing together and the rest is soon to become part of rock n' roll history.
The band is currently gearing up for a Back to School mini-tour while they write and demo / record. In the fall they will be playing high school assemblies and venues up and down the East Coast. This is one show you won't want to miss and surely a sound you'll have on repeat.
