About Me

As Howard E. Richmond, M.D. began his private practice in psychiatry, he began to understand the limitations of his traditional training with its focus on diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders from a biological perspective, with little or no emphasis on wellness or bridging the interface between body, mind and spirituality. Dr. Richmond became aware of a broader mission to explore concepts such as consciousness, spirituality and soul in the healing field via medicine, music and humor. Now, through his workshops and lectures, musical CDs and stand-up comedy, and his active medical practice as an Integrative Psychiatrist, he guides others to break through patterns of limitation to reach new heights of wellbeing.Originally trained as a civil engineer before becoming a physician, Dr. Richmond eventually recognized that building bridges from the mind to the heart was his true calling. He is founder of ITsU; Integrity Teachings, Universal, a forum to empower individuals towards greater wholeness and to creatively express the healing arts through education and entertainment. Dr. Richmond recently released his second CD, Soul-a-bration an original, orchestral, 12-string guitar composition. His forthcoming book, The Healing Field, is a true story of the transformative "out of the box" journey taken by him and his anorexic patient whose death-wish masked a spiritual hunger. He continues to follow a passion by performing stand-up comedy Southern California, where he is known as the Comic Shrink.found this plain layout at HOT FreeLayouts.com :: MyHotComments
