Pocket City Band

Rock and soul music is the core of the Pocket City Band. Children of the 70's, the band plays music from many decades, maintaining their edgy rock sound in whatever they play. _________________________________________________Lead vocalist, Kat Wilson's, influences range from Chaka Khan and Mariah Carey to Ann Wilson of Heart and Eva Cassidy. She also digs on Paul Rogers of Bad Company & Free, Corey Glover of Living Color, and Jamiroquai. Kat has toured with a plethera of bands: Vamp, Steel Breeze, & Max Danger all from Nevada, Sister Max & Kidd Blitz from Minneapolis, A-440, the Spoonz, and Fancy Kat from Denver, and Stage Hill Band from Nebraska. Kat has recorded with some notable personalities, David Z. (aka David Rivkin) of Prince fame, under whose direction she recorded with the Norwegian band A-ha, Bernard Allison (check out his video on this page), and other up-and-coming artists. Kat's voice can be heard on many IGT slot machines, as well... It's Rainin' Men, Walk Like an Egyptian, Rappin' Rodney, We Are Family, I've Got the Power, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and many others. Kat can also be seen on the Travel Channel's "America's Favorite Haunted Places" as the ghost of (Misfit's) Marilyn Monroe in the Cal Neva Hotel's episode.________________________________________Keyboardist Kerry Shacklett's music ranges from classical sounding piano to jazzy/classical sounding Emerson, Lake and Palmer type "rock" to pop. He has been a pro keyboard player since 1969, is an excellent singer and also plays guitar. Kerry's newest passion is playing drums, which he plans to do soon. That's the music side. He is also very much a political animal. He's called himself a libertarian since 1980. For those of you who don't know what a true libertarian is, living and breathing freedom. He formed The Dan McGinty Band consisting of Charlie Scofield on bass and vocals, Eric Hellberg on drums and vocals and Brian Morgan on keyboards. Despite rare live performances, Dan has been writing material for their upcoming cd.
