Zack Bombich aka Dj XaQ started his passion for music at a very early age of only 10 years old where he learned the very basics of the drums and other various percussion instruments. He was in his schools band from 4th grade up until 8th grade, giving him 4 years of experience with percussion, music theory, and music composition.
At about the age of 11 Zack began listening to various Trance and House tracks while hanging out with his older brother. He hated it at first but it started to grow on him and a year later he started listening to it himself. In 2004, Zack got his first computer. An Apple Mac Mini. He knew nothing about music production software at the time but his brother showed him this very cool program called Garageband. He then fell in love with making music. “I would sit on the computer for hours at a time just playing around with various loops and make songs.†He says. “But it wasn’t until 2006 that I began making anything worth listening to.â€
Late into the year he got a more professional production software called Logic 7. He had no clue how to use it so he went to the Apple to be taught how to use the program. He didn’t know that when he signed up for the class he was going to meet one of his biggest influences in music. Dave Sanchez (Dj 7Up). 7Up taught Zack more than just the basics of the program but taught him the way of house music, the vibe that you bring to the dance floor in a track, and the true meaning of making music.
In late 2007, Zack went to a Red Bull info session that had many top artists attending, including Johnny Fiasco, Dj 7Up, And Dj Strobe. Here Zack gained a whole new perspective of house music that he has never seen before. Zack Began working on his album shortly after the Red Bull info session, being more inspired than ever. It was there that he met his biggest influence on not just music, but on life. Eric (Dj Strobe) was very open to letting Zack see how the music life is through the perspective of a polished music producer.
He showed Zack the production style that he dreamed on having and showed him that it wasn’t so hard to accomplish. Zack took in all of his words and criticism and used it to make him self a stronger producer and person. “ If it wasn’t for Eric I probably would still be making the same repetitive music that went no where. I owe a lot of what I know to him and I cant wait to the day where I can repay him for everything he had done and is still doing for me.â€
Another Friend Zack met through Eric Was Matt. ( Dj Matt West ). Matt is around the same age as Zack and has similar goals in mind. he taught Zack many things about engineering music and that there is more to it than just adding effects. He also taught him something that is going to help Zack Stand out from the rest. The thing he taught him was that he needs to be able to Dj as well as produce. After learning this Zack split his focus on Dj’ing as well as his music production.
In Late 2008 Zack Took a break from releasing anything to refine and make his music “Uniqueâ€. After about 3 months he finally found his vibe and began to release tracks back into the music realm. Zack now has a nice grip under what he needs to accomplish in order to reach the top of the charts and he is certainly going to have a good time while doing so.
