Hi!I'm living in Rome (until October 2008) as I'm doing a year abroad as part of my language degree course at Cambridge University. At the age of ten, I took up the flute and thus ventured into the wonderful world of classical music. Three years later, I started singing. My teacher was the wonderful Joyce Robson and I was lucky enough to belong to the Goonvrea Singers - an excellent choir full of lovely people. I have won cups and shields at festivals throughout Cornwall, including the opera, oratorio, French art song and Lieder cups. At the age of seventeen, I was awarded the "County of Cornwall Vocal Championship" shield in 2004. I currently hold a choral scholarship at Cambridge University. I perform reguarly in recitals at university and have guested with Cornish male voice choirs. I have appeared in the operas choruses of "Les incas du Perou" and "Venus and Adonis". In December 2006 I sang the lead role in Cambridge University's Gilbert and Sullivan Society's production of 'Iolanthe'. In January 2007 I sang the role of Mozart's composition in "Mozart and Salieri", a play with Cambridge University. In February I sang the part of the "Sandman" in the opera, "Hansel and Gretel". I was the ‘beggar woman’ in Sweeney Todd, which was performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2007 and awarded 5 stars. I study with an excellent teacher at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, to whom I must say a huge thanks for her help. I am currently working on a project with the tenor Gianluca Paganelli and am a lyricist for classical cross-over and musical repertoire.
