I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm a Sound Editor and aspiring Lead Sound Designer for Video Games living in Encino, CA. I'm originally from Chicago, IL but moved out here 2 years ago for work. I'm loving it out here, and to the bitter disappointment of some people back home (you know who you are, guys), it doesn't look like I'll be back anytime soon.
My job is pretty tough and getting to where I want to be is going to be a long haul, but there are so many things about it that I love. This is a career I would gladly spend a lifetime working at... plus you can't beat the weather here.
I figured out a long time ago that working a regular 9-5 in a cubicle or wearing a suit to work everyday wasn't for me. I thrive in a laid back, creative environment and go crazy when work starts to feel like a daily grind. I've been playing games since I was five years old and I'm lucky enough to be able to make a living with one of my deepest passions.
I've been blessed with a tight-knit circle of friends, many of whom have been around for well over a decade now, and I plan on keeping every last one of them until the very end. I choose my friends carefully, and enjoy surrounding myself with motivated people. I admire loyalty and honor, and dislike liars and fakes.
I have the love of an awesome girlfriend who supports me in whatever I do and gives me the strength to climb back up when something comes along to knock me down a peg or two, and was fortunate to have her as one of my closest friends first. (Brownie Points, right, Mari? Yeah, that's right...)
I've got a cool family, full of quirks and characters that makes coming back to Chicago an adventure. My cousins are numerous, all around my age, and are as close to me as my own brother and sister.
Lastly, I've got the coolest dog in the world - a black and tan dachshund named Socrates. He can't be left alone because of his severe separation anxiety, loves to eat all the time (his bulbous torpedo-like shape is testament to this), and is absolutely worthless as a guard dog.... but what he does exceptionally well is make other people smile, and (most importantly) his child-like nature alleviates the pressure for grand-kids.
Well, I think that's pretty much everything...
