About Me

Johnny DeNiro, AKA Jon Doe, born Jonathan Carter, was born in Los Angeles, CA. At the young age of 8 years old he moved to College Park, GA. He was raised by his father Ray Carter III on the south side of Atlanta. His mother, Tullah Carter works in the Reggae industry and Jon was always around music with his mother. It came natural for him to be involved in all types of music. After years of writing poetry which would soon turn to raps, it was then his interest was sparked for performing as an artist. Jon Doe began his recording career in the fall of 2004 rapping in the group named Red Clay, based out of Valdosta, GA. It consisted of three members: Swole, Big Rick and Jon Doe. Soon thereafter another member, Kalico was added on to complete the crew. They started off by promoting parties throughout Southern Georgia and began to record their own music slowly but surely. The first song Jon Doe appeared on was entitled “Calibrated". Jon Doe then went on to help inspire the production and title of Red Clay’s first album, "Beyond Potential". Following it up with tracks like, “110th St”, “Whatcha Know”, “Just Ride”, and “Money Pile Up”, they were working together very well. In the process of creating their sophomore album tensions started to rise between the artists. With arrogance coming from the others and financial issues floating around, it left an unsanitary working environment which led Jon Doe to outgrow these artists and move on. Jon Doe having only experienced working with southern Georgia producers felt a need to step outside of the box. Jon Doe went back to Atlanta to team up with some high school buddies of his that had a group named, “The Clip”, which consisted of J Kidd and T Streets. It was then he was offered his first contract to the independent label Q Records.Fall of 2005 Jon Doe is no longer affiliated with Red Clay and moves his quest for lyrical excellence to the land of stars, Los Angeles, CA. Begging to be heard he jumped on tracks with every local artist he knew. Top Villain, Versityle, Diesel, Deja B, Young Boo, all contributed to his archive of tracks, but still no solo. After several months of relocation, producer searches, and featured tracks, in the summer of 2007 he finally recorded his long anticipated first ever solo song entitled, “Nationally Known (I Thought Cha’ll Knew)”. Then Johnny went on to compose his hit single, “Get Dat Guap”. The production was done by the bay area’s own, One Drop Scott, who is responsible for the production of artist such as Scarface, E-40, Too $hort, Celly Cell, and the late great Mac Dre, just to name a few. With a fresh start and his fan base growing rapidly, this young 23 year old MC is destined to make a big impression in Hip-Hop. Now known to his listeners as Johnny DeNiro, he brings his insightful knowledge about life and basically shows his versatility as an artist. Ranging anywhere from tongue twisting, to a slower southern delivery, to punch line rhymes you would probably run across in an old fashion New York Uptown cipher. This guy has the total package, intelligence, marketability, swagger, and skills. Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls will all be welcome to indulge in this celebration of a new coming.
