About Me

I declared my candidacy for House District 32 on May 17th. For the next 17 months I plan to work towards the goal of Responsible, Representative Government. My neighbors, my community, my district and my state will always come first. This campaign is based on “WE” not “I”, and it is based on “US” not “me”.Born in southern California and raised in rural Texas by hard-working, blue-collar parents I was taught about dedication, determination and work ethic from an early age. Since the age of 18 I have dedicated myself to the service of others in the community, the state and the country. After graduating high-school I joined the Marines and served my country for just under five years. I gained an education that stands, in my opinion, head and shoulders above that of a traditional education. I was taught about honor, courage and commitment. Leadership, teamwork, integrity and trust were thrust upon me from the minute I put on that uniform. After leaving the Marine Corps I became involved in EMS here in Colorado. Dealing with individuals on the worst day of their life taught me about personal responsibility and holding myself to a higher standard when it came training and knowledge. Being in an ambulance meant that you don’t choose who needs your help, they choose you. I learned that regardless of the person, every situation must be handled with compassion, understanding and diligence. Serving my community also came in the form of serving on the Board of Directors of the Commerce City Quality Community Foundation. Before this campaign, my most recent venture has been as an advocate for Veterans Rights in Colorado. To be able to give back to those that give so much for us has been an experience like no other. To lend a hand to Veterans in the arena of medical and physical health issues, education, housing and employment shows that I am dedicated to those citizens in all aspects. My life, political, social and advocacy experience puts me in an ideal situation to be able to represent ALL residents of the District regardless of background, experience, and even party affiliation. My goals for this campaign are the same goals I have for once I’m elected. It’s simple, it’s practical and what we can build a solid future on.- I plan to interact with the city councils and staffs of both Commerce City and Thornton to ensure that the visions of both these great cities are vocalized at the state level. - I plan to engage in an open and honest dialogue with the citizens of these communities in order to ensure that the voices of the backbone of the district are heard and represented at the Capitol. - I plan to stick to the core values that this country was founded upon by fighting for lower taxes, smaller government, and more individual freedoms. - I plan to continue to be a voice for our increasingly large Veterans population in the community and the state. - I plan to protect the most beautiful state in the country by finding ways to improve public transportation and promoting a higher energy efficiency standard. -I plan to interact with the school boards, parents, teachers and school administration to find a workable answer in order to make our students the best and brightest in the country.- But most importantly, I plan to hold myself accountable to the very people reading this, and assure them that their voice will be heard throughout the halls of the Capitol. For the people of House District 32 are the government , and I am simply a representative of the people. For more information on the campaign for a Responsible, Representative Government in Action, please visit my website at www.andrewgoad2010.com.com, or contact me personally at [email protected] or 303-880-2147.

The passing months, and the Future beyond

First, I would like to congratulate our President-Elect Barack Obama. This was a enormous election year, and was one that I can say I was proud to be a part of. We, as America, have our first African...
