J. Dukes of Hazard- Check out Rod D.s New Single

About Me

J. Dukes of Hazard has made it perfectly clear to close friends and relatives that he has a special knack for the limelight and performing. Now… it is time for the WORLD to see it. Growing up in Spartanburg, South Carolina he didn’t have it hard; but it sure wasn’t the easiest. At age ten; he was first motivated by his big brother, J. Dukes, to use a notebook to write down everything that he was going through. He later began writing down thoughts and ideas to make those things better. He developed the skill of rhyming and using crazy “Punchlines”. His brother noticed that his art far surpassed the writing skills of an average ten-year-old. J. Dukes (copied off his big brother) fell in love with this new phenomenon. WRITING… he used it as a way to express things that he wouldn’t normally say. He knew that he could take this talent a step further. At age 15; his very first studio-recorded track “Move Ya’ Body” was engineered by Phil Duckett out of Greenville, South Carolina. The beat was produced by J-Rhythm on a keyboard. (A Yamaha. Wow…) Lyrics were on point; but flow and delivery definitely needed a lot of work. In high school, he constantly worked on his weakest points (flow and delivery); at the time. To become more independent and well-rounded productively , still loving rap, he focused more on the engineering side in high school. At Dorman High he recorded, mixed, and (make-shiftily) packaged two (homemade) compilation cds, S.H.S.F I and S.H.S.F. II. “If you were at Dorman 2005-2006 you either had a copy or heard them before,” he said boldly. *Continues lower…*

Now-a-days he is J. Dukes of Hazard. The “Of Hazard” was added to acknowledge the chaotic style he puts down on every track and also, to be set apart from being the “little” brother. J. Dukes of Hazard is furthering his education at Claflin University in Orangeburg, SC. “College was a GREAT choice,” he said grinning. He feels that college is a way to increase his fan-base and make connections with ALL the right people. His “meet-no-stranger attitude and easy-going personality has allowed him to gain a close bond with the limelight. He stays in the mix of things. And not by force; but he is ABSOLUTELY FASCINATED with it. He is the life of the party and a natural front-runner of everything he does. Nine times out of ten if you’ve been around his areas you’ve seen him before. That is why his third album, which is currently a work in progress, is titled “A Familiar Face”. But trust it won’t be long until it is released. By listening to a sneak peek of the album it was noticed that the music production, by Jerrod Foster, is CRAZY and the creativity, along with lyrical presentation is definitely one of a kind. Although, when the question arose, “Why don’t you talk about anything gangster in your music?” he answered, “Everyday the industry wants to know what sets you apart. I am going to be real. I was never placed into a situation that I had to live that life. So… honestly, I since I’ve never lived that life; how real would I be to talk about it like I have? Don’t get me wrong. I’ve struggled; along with everybody else in the world. But this mic and that stage is my way out of the struggle. I talk about what I know. I get money and females. That’s what I know. And that’s what sets me apart.” J. DUKES of HAZARD…
