The Wild Mercury Sound

About Me

The Wild Mercury Sound was born in September 2007 (not so very long ago), with the desire to make guitar music which will mean something to people.
We are based in London, and are 17/16 years old.
We have lots of live experience under our collective belts, and have played venues such as Camden Barfly, Water Rats, The Good Ship, The Troubadour, Hard Rock Cafe, The Social (Heavenly Records), and many more.
We have also been lucky enough to share stages with the likes of Florence & The Machine, The Pigeon Detectives, 4 Or 5 Magicians, Rogues and DJ Hype (!?) to name but a few.
Thanks very much to Will of Patch William ( www.myspace.com/patchwilliam ) for recording and mixing our demos.
We would also like to thank Darren Brooker ( Infernal Racket Management ) for all the help and support he has given us.

Sounds Like: From http://www.nme.com/newmusic ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------review from mp3hugger.com:"There was a time when Ash used to affix a sticker to their releases that confirmed that they were in fact Guaranteed Real Teenagers (GRT). If there were any leftover I’m sure the Wild Mercury Sound would gladly snap them up given that their average age means they are excluded from having a legal pint for at least a couple of years. Don’t be surprised then when you hear their music that it’s snappy and off the cuff but the reason it is appearing here is because it is also off the hook. For an act that has barely a year under its belt WMS appear tight, fuelled by a common purpose and laden with splendid ideas that should ensure a tidy army of fans before too long. The 2 tracks below are both demos but will not require a great deal of tweaking before they eventually appear on WMS’s all conquering debut release. GRT stuff all round then. KD'' ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------- "Chemistry starts up and the music is effortlessly slick, then as singer Benji begins it begins apparent this band has massive lyrical talent, not to mention the musical knowledge to back it up. As Coco plays the excitement doesn’t die down and with aspirations to ‘make guitar music which will mean something to people’, they have most certainly succeeded. A sucker for fairy-tale inspired songs, things only get better with Goldilocks which has elements of anti-folk; summoning images of butterflies and pixie dust. To be of such a young age and craft songs such as Primrose Beauty shows again how much talent this band possess. They are not just any guitar band and this is evident in every one of their unique and imaginative tracks on their EP; they are sure to pluck on your heartstrings and get into your head." -Carmina Masoliver
