West D (SPHINX Crew)

Biography: ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------- Diego aka West D comes from a very eclectic musical and ethnic background. Being Swiss and Brazilian at the same time he gets the best of each culture and is influenced by both the very creative European electro scene and the Brazilian soul, lifestyle, music and rythms. It is only after playing the cello during 6 years, then the acoustic guitar and the electric guitar during 5 years that he discovers the pleasures of making electro tracks. After having played in a rock band, he discovers the unlimited possibilities of electronic music and starts producing electro tracks in 2005 with two of his friends, Toucan and Lukas Dassler, with whom he starts a group, merely an electronic project, called SPHINX CREW. Since 2006 he starts a DJ career as WEST D as well as a member of the SPHINX CREW. WEST D has now a residency in the famous GLOBULL club. SPHINX CREW DJ-sets include their productions. Toucan, Lukas Dassler and more recently DJ Salim are members of the constantly evolving SPHINX CREW of Djs and producers. Electro, ghetto house, funk, g-funk, early house, miami bass, 90's dance, new wave and baile funk are part of the musical background of the group.
