people say i am cute... people say i am good... people say i am nice... people say i am cool... i say i am just raab--and i am willing to be your friend.ü. On the GO, Yet Always AT HOME History books tell us that slavery is a thing of the past. What life tells us is that it is a thing very much of the present; but what was once heralded by the crack of the whip is now heard in whispers, suggestive, seductive, alluring. It lurks behind the beautiful face of bad friendships. It forces one into awkward situations. It compels people to work themselves to the bone. Today, it takes a different kind of Abe Lincoln to solve the present slavery. What few realize is that Abe must come from within; authentic change happens only when there is personal conviction. And in a life where one constantly feels dictated upon to be what one knows what one is not, it is a consolation to find someone with integrity, individuality, living out a life of his choice; not afraid of bad friendships, awkward situations and hard work. Not afraid of death, nor of life, a person in control, laughing all the way. Those who have survived projects with Raab may agree with this description of him. The writer is sure that they have all been experiences that, even if they have drawn blood, always ended up in laughter, with an added bonus: the projects ACTUALLY got done IN SPITE of all the laughter! It is cliché to speak of the endless nights; let us speak then of the sleepless days which are even harder because they attract less attention.
