Hey, my name is Jonathan, and I play guitar for a band called Hawk Nelson.... I also have a side-project called Fox Run... I live in Canada, California, AND Nashville (how confusing is THAT?!!). I'm hoping to have a real place to call home sometime soon... I know a certain girl that still makes me feel as clumsy as ever. I have been so blessed with amazing family and friends, I could never feel poor, no matter how scarce money becomes. I buy and sell guitars like nobody's business... but i have 2 guitars I will probably never sell.... an HH Telecaster, and a '71 Deluxe Les Paul... but hey, everything I own is always for sale for the right price. ha ha....
this is a modest list of things that make me smile.
croutons. gas stations after 10pm. flying with carry-on only. driving. unapologetically visible tattoos. grammar. girls with boy names. minnesota, california, and texas. people that can draw. movies that are more real than real life. my brother. the rain. singing for someone i love. her loving me for it. my longboard. the one day per year that i get to snowboard. hair. good hair. indian cuisine. science. my sister. new york. sting and the police. my mother. waking up at 7am to find out there's a snowstorm and everything is closed. campfires. grocery shopping after 3am. jamba juice. my father. talking about theology with him way later than he wants to stay up. people that don't speak english. text messages. cloves. the moment at a concert when the power goes out, and the crowd finishes singing the song on their own. magic tricks. shivering. the confidence that comes from clarity born of confusion. jesus christ, who made all of that just for me.
i've lived in 15 different homes in 8 different cities... and if you ask me where i live now, i don't know what to tell you. i was born in vancouver, BC, canada. i ended up in barrie, ontario, eventually. then i left the country i love to immerse myself in the throes of commercialism and vaguery that is America.
