Klaus Kinski was born Nikolaus Karl Günther Nakszynski on october 18, 1926 in Zoppot, Germany[Now sopot, part of Poland]. He is the son of Bruno Nakszynski & Susanne Lutze. Kinski was drafted into the German army in 1944, and served in Holland. He went AWOL and surrendered himself to Brittish forces, begging them to shoot him in the head. He spent the remaining time of the war in a POW camp, Here he began acting for fellow prisoners. Klaus Kinski has appeared in over 100 films, but is best known for his works with Werner Herzog.
