Susanna Lee clearly speaks her mind, pulling no punches and mincing no words. She’s original and irrepressible, provocative and poignant, spicy and seductive. She has been referred to as refreshingly unique, a hard-boiled hussy, and “The Hardest Working Mouth In The Midwestâ€. Grandma Sophie calls her spunky, but you can just call her Lucky.In 1996, Susanna Lee began rolling along the highways as a standup comic. Over several years she performed in the expected comedy clubs, colleges, festivals, competitions, bars, hotel lounges and occasional Russian bathouse. In 2006, Susanna Lee decided to further the span of her performances by adding a bit of Burlesque. Performing as her alter-ego, Lucky DeLuxe, she has been involved with the resurgence of traditional variety-style Burlesque shows in Kansas City. She has created her own show, Cabaret DeLuxe, as well as collaborating with Annie Cherry to create and produce the Cherry's DeLuxe burlesque series, in addition to having performed with other groups, including Annie Cherry’s Hurly Burly Girls, Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School, Etta Vendetta’s Eyeful Tower and Burly-Q Girly Crew. She was honored to perform in the 2008 Coney Island Rockabilly Festival, as well as the Kansas City Fringe Festival (2007, 2008) and the Crossroads Music Festival (2008). She was a founding members of The Kansas City Society of Burlesque (www.kcsob.com), which is an association of Burlesque performers and supporters growing rapidly.Susanna Lee has been seen on the Oxygen Network’s hit show “Girls Behaving Badlyâ€, as well as on the NBC Morning News. She’s been heard on the Free Speech Radio Network, as well as Radio Uncensored and Pervert Radio. Susanna Lee has performed at the Chicago Comedy Festival, the Seattle Comedy Competition, the Portland Comedy Competition and with the Bud Light Ladies of Laughter. She has worked with such great performers as Lewis Black, Otto and George, Bobcat Goldthwait, Tom Rhodes and A. Whitney Brown.
