Band Members: Just me. If and when someone helps me out, he or she will be listed. I'm not a hog about credit. Let's all get ripped off together!
Influences: Too many to mention...you'd have to ask me yourself. Tersely put, I'll listen to just about anyone in music, and if there's some type of energy from which to learn, I just use it as a brick for my foundation. All in all, we learn throughout life.
Then, whatever I learn, more than likely, I'll teach it to someone else.
Sounds Like: I don't know...you tell me! I will say this, for the first two tracks on the player, I stayed away from those types of sounds for years because I didn't want to sound like I was jacking someone else's style. Once, back in '99, a cat came over selling books to raise money, and he started telling me about his younger brother who was a singer up in Virginia and wanted some music to use (good sales tactic, brother!). Anyway, I played him some beats I had made at the time, and even though he liked them, he said they were a little too gritty...too hard. I guess so...I had the hard drums, changing patterns, filters, chopped samples, etc.
He wanted to know if I had any songs more in the mode of Timbaland at the time...even though I love Timbaland's music and check for his CDs, I didn't even want to use the same drum sounds he was using because i didn't want to sound like a biter.
As years went by (approximately late 2004 or early 2005), I decided to suck it up and experiment with those drum sounds. After all, a sound is a sound. It's what one does with it that makes the difference. So, that's why you have "Quarterly Business Meeting" and "Beat 6-OM." I just flipped it and put my unlimited touch to it.
