About Me

Like so many journeymen in the music business, Deb Lyons has forged a music career with a knack for versatility and adaptability. Deb is best known for her performance in the DVD and HBO broadcast of "Smokey Joe's Cafe", the R & B Broadway show that featured the music of Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller. But she also tapped into her folky soul and toured the world for 5 years in the mid to late '90's with "The Mamas & The Papas", singing with original Papas, John Phillips and Denny Doherty and performing the songs made famous by the late Mama Cass. In addition she has also sung with the likes of Lee Ann Womack, Carrie Underwood, Donna Summer, Rosanne Cash, Ben Vereen, Rick Springfield and Dan Hicks. In early 2004 she sang with the legendary songwriters, Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil in the Off-Broadway autobiographical revue of their music. Most recently she can be heard on the Anime' soundtrack to "Xenosaga II" and the album "Fiction" both by the Japanese composer and cult favorite, Yuki Kajiuira. Other recordings include the Chieftains' "Further Down The Old Plank Road", the 1991 MTV top 10 dance hit "Show Me How To Dance" by the Bingo Boys and TV and radio jingles for Jet Blue, Mars, Milky Way and MCI to name a few. In 1999 she stepped into the world of theater once again and toured with the national company of "Jekyll & Hyde" singing the music of Frank Wildhorn. A highlight for Deb was being invited to sing with the National Arts Symphony of Ottawa for their "Gershwin Series" conducted by Jack Everly. You can hear more samples of her singing at DebLyonsmusic.com . Deb also lives with a top of the line studio in her home, Jankland recording (check out gear here: Jankland.com ) and can produce and/or contract lead and background vocal tracks for your recording projects.
