SIGNOR 9 – BIOGRAPHYThe origin of the band dates back to early 2001, when Riccardo “Riki” Guido and Emanuele (the past sax player of the band) were looking for a bass player to play their own songs: Stefano “Neno” Brenna blissfully joined them, and Signor 9’s history started. Lorenzo “Guinness” Capuzzo soon entered the group, thus providing more rhythm and dynamism to the sound, originally ranging from swing to blues. From the beginning of 2002, the guitar of Marco “Condor” Molteni was added, and Signor 9 soon started playing live performances both in open air concerts (Music4Rwanda 2003 and 2004) and in local pubs. In the meantime, the final composition of the band had been completed by Cristian Brunello, who brought new influences to soul music. The band regularly exhibits in “Charleston Piano Bar”, the most legendary and fascinating pub in Como. In October 2005, Signor 9 also recorded a track on the “Charleston Tribute Compilation” released together with other prominent musicians in occasion of its 25th anniversary. The group counts also several participations to some of the most important public events in Como, like “Notte Bianca” (July 2006), “Palio del Baradello” (September 2005 and 2007), numerous performances in private parties in the most attractive villas nearby Como’s Lake and two performances at the “Teatro Piccolo di Como”.
