What is AMP?
AMP (Alternative Music Promotions) is an exciting new Music organization based from around Herts and Bucks that is striving to help the already thriving local music scene progress into something even bigger and better.
So whats the scene missing? It has great bands, promotors and fans that make it tick but it has nothing to tie it all together.....thats where AMP comes in!
The aim of AMP is to create a website which will be the ultimate local music resourcs; incorporating Articles, Reviews, Interviews, News, Gig Diaries and much more.
From this website we will also sell Local Compilation CDs. These will be professionally made CDs that will include one track from around 15-20 artists, from many different genres, around Hertforshire and Buckinghamshire. They will be packaged in a full jewel case with booklets containing biographies of each band and photos.
We would also like a portion of our profits to go straight back into the music scene, and what better way to do this then to donate to Oxjam! A charity organization that puts on many gigs around the area with all proceeds going to Oxfam.
Having already partnered with promotors such as Goulash, Oxjam and many more, AMP aims to be an integral part of the scene.

So what does the local music scene get out of this?
1)Well for a start, it's a great CD for people to listen to some tracks from bands they love who may not have any sort of EP down yet and maybe discover some new artists.
2) It's great promotion for the bands, everyone who buys the cd is one more person hearing about that band. They will also have places on our website, myspace etc
3) We would also create a website as a base for the CDs, but which the CD's would only be a small section of. We're thinking gig calenders, articles, reviews, interviews, new artist of the week etc. I think this would provide a resource Watford currently doesn't have.
4) A percentage of proceeds going straight to Oxjam.
