You know what interests me the most about Degrassi? The clothes!! I find them totally fascinating. Think about it. The cast members are always wearing each others clothes. Have you ever noticed that? Take the first episode for instance. We have Kathleen wearing a blue sweater, which is later seen being worn by Caitlin in the episode where she prints an article that was banned from the Degrassi Digest, about Spike getting kicked out of school for being pregnant. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that little airplane pin she had on the sweater too!! And then we see that same sweater, once again, on Spike in a later episode! And what about the twins? They dressed ok in the beginning, but then they went into this black and white phase! Everything they wore revolved around a select set of about 5 different outfits, while mixing and matching tops and bottoms from each one. WTF?? Was the wardrobe budget really that low? LOL And then we have some really neat outfits that some of the characters wore. Remember that totally awesome glittery, purple jacket that lucy wore, when Mr. Colby asked her to go over Mr. Raditches systems? I want a coat just like that, and I would wear it too!! We also see Liz wearing it, while she was sitting on the steps in the school, in a later episode. And what about that other neat jacket of Lucy's!! The black denim coat with the stick figures on a rainbow background? Amazing. I'd wear that coat too. And what about Stephanie Kaye's blue shoulder bag, with white polkadots all over it? That thing was awesome. I want one of those too. I love the sound of the vinyl crinkling, it made, when she reached into it, in the girls bathroom, while she was contemplating running for president.
Well, first off, I'd to start out with stating the obvious types of people on there that I don't want to meet!
First and foremost, I will NOT add you, if I requested you as a friend, at any given point in time, on my main page, and you denied me. I remember who you are, every single one of you snobs! If you've got a stick up your @ss and want to be anti-social, that's fine with me. I'm a firm believer in treating other people the way I want them to treat me.
I will not tolerate spammers!! This is a fanpage! No one here is interested in male enhancement pills or making money on line, got that? Now, for the people I do want to meet......DEGRASSI FANS!! Hardcore Degrassi fans, such as myself. But remember, this page is all about the old school Degrassi, not the next generation!!
ATTENTION! Before you can listen to music in the playlist, or watch videos, you must stop the song "Moonlight Desires" from playing, FIRST! Click on the pause button on the player and it will stop.Well now, we can't leave out those famous bands from Degrassi!! The zit Remedy, Gourmet Scum, Mike and drifters, The Pogues, and The Savages. Can you guess which one of these band is actually a real band?? Only one of them is. The Pogues! I saw one of their albums in a store once, lol. I also like anything they play on CRA-Z radio. Especially "Talking Sex with Sally".
This is my most prized piece of Degrassi history, that I own. This is the record that was played at several degrassi Jr. High dances and parties. I had to go all the way to Canada to find it! I recently went to St. John, New Brunswick. I was digging through the records at their Salvation Army store, and there it was!! only 50 cents!! (Canadian money). I was litterally jumping up and down in the store screaming, "I FOUND IT, I FOUND THE THE DEGRASSI RECORD!" Yeah, I was that excited!! This is also the same album that Alexa holds in her hand and Heather and Erica's makeout party, while exclaiming "Oooh, I love this song!!" Which is the "Burning torches of hope" song that's playing in the background.
This section of the page is very special!! Why you ask? Well, read on and I'll tell you!! You see, all of the songs you hear on this page, are the actual songs that were played on Degrassi jr. high, Degrassi High and the School's out movie! Here's a little bit of music history for you. Apparently, Degrassi must have had some sort of deal or contract going with the singer Lawrence Gowan. Why? Well, if you pay attention very carefully, you'll notice that about 90 % of the songs on the show that you hear playing in the background at parties and in the stores, is by him! Check the credits at the end of the show and you'll see his name in there. My favorite song by Gowan, is "Moonlight Desires" which is the default song on this profile. The first time we hear it on the show, is at Heathers makeout party. We see Wheel's and Heather on the porch (which is soon to be Snakes porch, in a later episode), making out on a couch. You hear about 15 seconds of the song. And the first time I heard it, I was like "I gotta find out who sings that and get the cd!) And we also hear it a second time (the last time), in the "School's out" movie, when Joey and Tessa are going at it, in the backseat of his car. Now why on earth did they only play this awesome song, two times??? They wore out the others!! See, there were 4 other songs by Gowan that were played on the show, repeatedly! "Costmetics", "Strange Animal" and "Criminal Mind", and "Burning Torches of Hope". I think they practicalyl wore out the "Burning Torches of Hope" record. That song was played at almost every school dance! It was played in the first episode and I think we heard it for the longest, in the episode where Erica hooks up with that guy from St. Mary's and starts making out with him on the steps. And Alexa claims to "LOVE" that song, at Heather's makeout party. I have yet to hear that song in it's fulle entirety and I'm having trouble fidning any cd's by this guy!!
This is an accurate description of when and where some of the songs in the playlist above were played on Degrassi!!Strange Animal - School's out movie (exactly sure where)Fly by night - In Joey's car, when he's got Wheel's in there with him, as they're pulling into the parking lot of the school. They're arguing about Wheel's taking Joey's watch.Criminal mind - Not sure where or what episode, but it was listed in the credits of the "School's out" movie.
This song (Hard to love, by Harem Scarem), is the song they played in the "School's out" movie, when they showed Tessa and Joey running around on the beach. I couldn't find the song on playlist, so I had to put a video instead.
Return to Sender (Simon and Alexa really like this one!!), Crying in the wind (Melanie said she heard this one was pretty decent.), Revenge of the reptiles (Melanie's not too crazy about this one, and neither is Yick, lol), Queen in Exile (Not a big favorite of Mia's, but Dianna, Melanie and Caitlin sure liked it!), Teen Academy 4 (Joey loved it, Caitlin hated it!)
Quest for the best! Without Kathleen, Degrassi would have been toast! She really came through for the team, despite her alcoholic mother, forgetting to bring her school sweater to the taping. It was so nice of Rick to let her borrow his sweater and walk her home, wasn't it? I think Caitlin was a bit jealous over that, eh?Here's a shocker. Did you know that Dr. Sally, the sex show lady, from CRA-Z radio, actually has her own sex show on tv right now? Yeah! She's like 90 years old now and talks about all this gross stuff on there. I think it comes on the oxygen network on Sunday nights, if I'm not mistaken. And no, I don't tune into that. I've only seen it like once or twice. LOLAny show with Damon King in it!! "EEEEEEEEEE" "If only we were free to...follow our hearts!!" "I can't leave now, not with Amanda still in a coma!"
"The outsiders" of course!! After all, it was Dianna's favorite book to fantasize about Yick with. She compared him to Pony boy and soda pop. And who can resist those "Gruesome Gargoyles" comics that Bart and Scooter were always reading?!! Gotta love 'em!!"King of hearts" the complete autobiography about Damon King!! I wonder if he'll sign my book too, and give me the "One autograph, one kiss" policy? LOL YUCK!! Can imagine kissing that perv? EEEW!! Those lips and that face, were sooo nasty! Honestly, I just don't see what Stephanie and the twins saw in him anyway!
My first hero, would have to be Mr. Raditch. I mean, this guy was always cracking down on the bad guys. Nothing ecscaped him!! He found out Yick had Stephanie Kaye's paper, when Arthur said it would be next to impossible for him to remember, cuz he graded a couple hundred papers a day. Nothing gets by Mr. Raditch, NOTHING!!
Joey Jeremiah!! Now this guy is a little bit of everything!! A playboy, chairman of the welcoming commitee, sports rep, sanitary engineer, drug dealer (oops, I mean vitamin pills), and he can play a mean keyboard in his band, the Zit Remedy!! Oh yeah, and he made a music video too, in high school!
